"Tailgate
on the Road"
Our first in several
weeks has come, when our tailgate will take a pause,
We’ll all relax, catch our breath and renew our faith in the cause!
Whether we’re resting
at home or deciphering high school football code,
The important point is that our tailgate has not stopped; it’s
just Out On The Road!
The Laskowski’s and
maybe Beckster will be at an Apple Harvest Fair,
But you can bet that we’ll be watching, the game in a comfy E-Z
Chair!
The Beans will be in York
and probably the Dixon’s too,
Catching up on sleeping, coaching or whatever else you do!
But then there are the Metzger’s,
who will travel on their way,
Cheering at Purdue and being our good luck for the day!
Many of you I’m not
sure what you’ll do or where you’ll land,
But I bet come game time, you’ll be missing our favorite Bluest
Band!
You see there are many ways
to show spirit and watch from far away,
Of course, it’s not quite the same thing, as Happy Valley on Game
Day!
But the important thing is
that we keep the faith, for our dear beloved team,
Hoping that a winning season is more than just a dream!
So fly your flags and play
your tunes and get ready for a fight,
And hopefully we’ll have a win by the end of Saturday night!
From the Poet and his wife,
I say “Enjoy the Game!”
But a Tailgate on the Road without you all, is just not quite the same!
