Welcome Back!
By Metzger | August 30, 2007
So I haven’t written a post since last year’s Akron game. I’ve been a busy man over the last 12 months - had a new baby, got a new job, moving the family cross state. Amidst all the chaos in my life right now, I HAD to somehow take a few minutes to put my thoughts in writing for 2007. Here goes:
Our Record: 11-2
Losses: at Michigan, vs. USC (Rose Bowl)
Offensive Player to Watch: I was going to say Andrew Quarless but since he’s in the doghouse for the first few games I’m going with Ausin Scott. I know this is a safe pick but I really think he’ll come into his final year trying to prove he’s not a bust and playing for his NFL future.
Defensive Player to Watch: I love the way that Sean Lee came on towards the end of last year. He has all the instincts of Poz with maybe a bit more speed.
Game of the Year: I think we’re going to beat Wisconsin at home in OT. My call to win it is a Morelli to Norwood TD pass followed by a Connor-Lee-Scirotto goal line stuff of P.J. Hill on fourth and goal.
Best Moment: A.J. Wallace takes back the opening kickoff for a TD against Notre Dame sending the crowd into a frenzy and Charlie Weis to the Sheetz concession stand on the mezzanine level for an MTO.
Worst Moment: Chad Henne runs for a 13 yard TD with seconds left to beat PSU for the ninth straight time on 9/22 in the Big House. After the game, Beano attempts to do a header off the last row of Michigan Stadium only to land on the idiot Michigan guy that dresses up like a super hero for every game. Win some, lose some - oh well.
I hope everyone enjoyed my best Jonny Carson Carnac attempt. I really do believe that this could be a special season IF a lot of things fall into place. We need some bounces and breaks and some more aggressive game-planning for starters. We also need some of the guys in key positions (Morelli, Scott, Connor) to step up and lead.
We’re down to 1 more day until we meet on Services Road, so get the ice in the cooler and paint the washers Rich because Beano and I got winners! And by the way, my pick for Saturday is the good guys 44, FIU 7.

Great post. If you asked if I’d take that season, I’d say hell yes. I guess we’ll see
